Peter Parker was born in New York to scientist Richard Parker who was working to reverse engineer the super soldier formula. When Dr. Banner (a colleague of Richard Parker) solved the formula on accident and mistakenly tested it on himself which created the Hulk, Hulk destroyed the laboratory and effectively killed Peter’s parents. After the event, Peter was sent to live with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben and told that his family had died in a plane crash. At the age of 5, however, he was adopted by Steve Rogers and Tony Stark.

Peter is socially awkward and has an identity problem. He is shy around women, seeming almost afraid of them, but is polite and has a pleasant demeanour. Peter is accident prone and agonizes over all of his choices. He’s been bullied most of his life and tends to keep to himself - avoiding conflict at all costs.

While on a field trip with his school as a child, Peter was bitten by a radioactive spider which gave him superhuman capabilities. Quickly, the powers manifested in Peter and he began to use them just for fun around the house never really considering that he could use them for good. After the death of his Uncle Ben, who said, “With great power comes great responsibility”, Peter decided to enlist his mutant powers for the betterment of mankind. He then became Spider Man.

Spider Man is looked down upon and not well respected among the citizens of his native New York - however, he has friends in many other heroes and is on the ‘to kill’ list of several villains. He’s the underdog in all situations and is often out-manned and out-gunned. Despite his apparent shortcomings, Spider Man manages to throw in wise cracks between punches and always comes out on top.

Peter is one of the few among the good who is wholeheartedly aligned to the purpose of bringing together both sides in order to fight the evil that reeks havoc upon their country. He’s trusting of all the heroes and mutants because they all seem to be living in the same way - fighting crime and restoring justice to the areas in which they live. He doesn’t understand why not everyone agrees with this or the pleas of the other willing heroes and mutants. He actively tries to bring together both sides and will often (despite it being out of his character) attempt to break up arguments between his companions.

• Immune to vampire bites/etc

• Possesses a sixth sense (Spidey sense) that alerts him to danger

• Perfect balance.

• Can communicate with spiders/sense them anywhere

• Night vision

• Teeth and stingers (only triggered in overwhelming situations; he can not consciously control them)

• Molting and creating cocoons to heal himself; can molt damaged skin or create a cocoon from which he will emerge after a little while with all his bodily damage healed
